I’m Caroline Blicq, a Canadian molecular mixologist and herbalist, and Hexennacht is my indie fragrance brand—forged from decades of hands-on work with plants, resins, and raw materials. I’m now based in the sweltering outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona. My journey began in the early ’90s on the open Canadian prairies, rooted in a deep connection to wild plants and herbalcraft. Years spent navigating the damp forests of the Pacific Northwest and the rugged coastal chaparral of Santa Barbara were balanced by urban rhythms and cityscapes—where nature meets concrete.
A lifelong introvert and practicing wildcrafter well into my 50s, I’ve always found comfort in quiet spaces and solitary study—continually learning, observing, and refining. My deep love for animals and rescues shapes both my cruelty-free ethos and the way I move through the world: gently, fiercely, and with a strong sense of boundaries. I experience life like a barometer—attuned to shifts in scent, mood, and pattern, often sensing what’s unspoken long before it’s said. Perfume is my clearest form of translation, where instinct becomes something wearable.
I also lean into the unseen. With decades of quiet exploration in the occult and esoteric arts, I often draw on mood, symbolism, and the ritualistic aspects of scent as a bridge between worlds—earthly and otherwise.
With over 30 years of experience in herbal medicine, wildcrafting, and botanical alchemy, I channel both the wild and the metropolitan into my creations. Hexennacht’s small-batch, cruelty-free perfumes, incense, and body care products are almost entirely vegan—with just a few exceptions made.
I believe in quiet philanthropy and supporting those in need without point-of-sale donations or performative activism. I let my work and actions speak beyond the noise. For over 15 years, I’ve built a reputation through consistency, transparency, and some of the fastest, most dependable turnaround times in the indie world. While trends and tempests come and go, my focus stays on crafting scents and experiences that are not just beautiful, but strange, offbeat, nostalgic, and deeply evocative. I’m especially drawn to the kind of fragrance that stirs memory—scents that feel like a half-remembered place, time, or mood.
Hexennacht isn’t just perfume—it’s mood, memory, and a little bit of magic.
